The main topic of this course is Business Technology. It explains what is the role and importance of technology in modern enterprises. Everyday new business technologies are invented in various areas - whether in marketing, finance or customer service for example. To run a successful business in this technological age, entrepreneurs have to employ a set of management practices, tools and innovations designed to ensure the use of technology is optimized across the company, and to allow them to reach competitive advantages.

To achieve that, this first course is broken down into six modules, each focusing on a specific aspect of business technology.

The course aims to make available to youth workers and young female entrepreneurs content that allows you to understand the challenges of today’s business regarding digital improvement. The knowledge you will gain will help you embrace the technology skills necessary for your organization.

What is the Role that Consumer Empathy Plays in Market Research? How understanding your audience’s struggles, and demonstrating respect and empathy with your business solutions, can help you achieve your business goals?

In this module, we discuss what is the importance of empathy as “the ability to recognize and share the emotions of another person”, in understanding not just what customers (current and prospective) are doing, but why they are behaving, thinking and feeling in certain ways, or why they are not.

What does MVP mean in relation to setting up your business venture? How the “Lean Startup” shaped the business creation process, and why do we need the ‘minimum viable product’ in the first place.

In this module we dive in the details surrounding the initial stage of creating the first workable (and saleable) version of your new business concept. We will explore how you can utilize your MVP for moving your company in the right direction by making a product that people will actually want to use and pay for, generating initial revenue.

 

Entrepreneurial success, as well as impact, directly or indirectly gets affected by the environment or ecosystem in which it is operating its business. Given that the Entrepreneurial and Technological Ecosystems could be described as a blend of social, economic, cultural, political and tech components within a region, you as a provident entrepreneur should be able to navigate them smoothly, consider and exploit their potential and opportunities.

In this module we explore the key domains of these systems and the major implications for your business deriving from them.

 

How to Design a Winning Business Model? The quest for sustainable advantage begins with the business model. The new technology-based and low-cost business solutions are reshaping industries and redistributing profits.

This module is dedicated to exploring the ways by which companies create and capture value through their business models, and the importance of innovative business design as a tool for sustainable competitiveness.

Social and Environmental Entrepreneurship

Social and Environmental Entrepreneurship

The main topic of this course will be “Social and Environmental Entrepreneurship”. Over the last two decades, an increased sense of social and environmental awareness grew as the society realized how its everyday activity could affect the environment and how socially destructive the behavior of many businesses was. In this way, running an organization with a positive social and ecological impact, which addresses social and sustainable issues, becomes one of the main concerns for nowadays businesses. And so, new types of entrepreneurship have emerged.

This second course will be broken down into five modules, each of these modules focusing on a specific point of social and environmental entrepreneurship.

This course will prepare you for the new challenges of organizations concerning social and environmental issues. You will understand how their activity could impact a global scale and learn to cope with the complexity of doing social and sustainable entrepreneurship. Moreover, through this content, you will discover the role of governments, particularly of the European Union, in these new ways of running a business.  

Before you even start anything, the first thing to do, is ask yourself ‘what is this, why am I doing it and who will benefit from this?’ Simple as that, the first step has been made.

Considering this, before we dive in and explain in details what is needed to be a Social Entrepreneur we have to go through the introduction of ‘What is actually social entrepreneurship?’ Boring you might think, but no. The essence of Social Entrepreneurship is understanding it at first, and all facts considered, it is simple as it sounds.

The 3rd sector is considered to be an umbrella term and it includes a variety of organizations that have different structures, purposes but they don’t belong to the public sector, not the private sector. This sector can also be called the voluntary sector, NGO or non-profit organizations.

Imagine you have a project, no matter if it is simple or complex in its nature, you immediately have people who will show interest in your project. These people are, the ones who we call stakeholders, in this case your stakeholders.

Stakeholders can appear in different forms and size and the interest that they have in your project can vary, or maybe you would like to get their interest on the topic. They can be directly or indirectly interested, and they can also influence your work in the same way.

Even though Corona Virus Pandemic brought additional challenges to the third sector, we are still facing problems that existed even before the pandemic happened. According to various researches, the majority of third sector organizations (90%) have experienced some kind of negative impact as a result of the pandemic and these will be felt in the time to come.

The main topic of this course is the Entrepreneurial Finance. One describes Entrepreneurial finance as a process of "search and matching" between entrepreneurs proposing their innovative ventures and capitalists selecting and financing the most profitable projects.

When an entrepreneur wants to start a new business, one of the main questions is: How to fund it? There are multiple ways to finance a new business, so being aware of them improves the chances of the entrepreneur getting the appropriate financing to meet its specific needs.

To do that, this last course will be broken down into four modules, each of these modules focusing on a specific point of entrepreneurial finance.

The entrepreneurial finance course will prepare you to be competent in entrepreneurship and corporate finance management skills. It will allow you to understand financial planning and decision-making needs for entrepreneurial ventures, including startups and new businesses. 

Do you have a great business idea? Do you want to start your business, but you are short of funds? How do you put ideas into action and how do you implement those actions? Are the finances the only thing needed? How much money can and should be raised, when and from whom? New entrepreneurs are often faced with many challenging questions about financing once they develop a business plan.

After completing this module, you will be able to describe typical financing strategies across different phases of the company lifecycle and understand the benefits and risks associated with different funding options. Getting from an idea to an actual business.
